Board of Directors Meeting

December 5, 2003  Location: Omni 41

Present:  Mike Wilson, BigHal, Mike Stiles, Sue Brown, Pat Rhodes, Larry Giannitti, Pete Klaeser, Tom Navarro, Bill Moylan, Cassandra Rozycki, Mary Zemansky, Cecilia Bernal

Meeting called to order by Sue at 7:35 following the race directors meeting.

Motion to approve minutes postponed until next meeting since the secretary forgot to print out hard copy.  Unapproved minutes are available on the web site.

President′s report: 

• Reviewed 2004 GC schedule and conflicts. Run for Children did not re-apply.  Spring Fling was in conflict with TalTree. Health Care Hustle is holding off one more year.  Buckley 5 mile is still without a race director and no representative appeared on behalf of the Buckley 5 mile race at the mandatory race directors′ meeting held prior to this meeting.  Extreme Exchange did not re-apply.
• Dining cards will be for sale beginning next Thursday – sell 10 and you get a running jacket.  Direct inquiries to diningcard@calstrider.org or go to Dining Card for more information.

Treasurer's Report: 

Cecilia submitted a revenue and expenditure report for the year showing a positive variance with adequate funds to cover the Christmas party and GC banquet.  Reports are available for inspection.

Membership:  No report available.

Web site:   Looking for by-laws to add to web site.

Statistician:  Final standings are posted on the web site.

Gold Cup:  See President′s report.

Old Business:  

• Bill moved to transfer the proceeds of the JC race to the JC scholarship fund plus an additional amount of $148.49 to make $1000 as designated by the race sponsor.  2^nd by Mary, approved.

New Business:

• Cass moved to approve one mile race in conjunction with Just a Little Run on 5/22 as qualifying for GC points for Jr. Striders only, 2^nd by Mike Stiles, approved.
• Mike moved to include the Chicago Distance Classic in the GC schedule in place of Buckley, 2^nd by Mary, approved.
• Cass Moved to approve the application from Mike Stiles for financial assistance from the Bob Stevens disabled runners fund for $180 as assistance for lost wages from his injury helping at the BS/JC race.  2^nd by Tom, approved.
