XC Nationals Final Instructions (click here)
- PORTER COUNTY - there is one final practice Wed 4:00 PM sharp at Coffee Creek (although an announcement was made there was none, the Wed night coach was planning on it. I would like to see as many kids there as possible to get a final practice in before the meet.
- LAKE COUNTY practice remains unchanged for Wed.
- Nashville is on Central time. All races times are Central time.
- Nashville weather Friday low 27 high 42 partly cloudy, Saturday low 26 high 45 (SEND/BRING OPTIONS especially to stay warm). We will be outside from 9-3pm on Saturday (of course the bus will be open to hang out and stay warm inbetween). Bring hat or headband, sweats, hoodie, gloves, layer...layer..layer. Bring both running shoes & spikes. Team tent will have p/b jelly sandwiches & water on race day. Label all team wear & jackets & gear bags with your name. There will be 42 kids going in/out of tent all day.
- Athletes will have bib numbers on front and back.
- Fine Designs will be on site Friday as well as Saturday selling merchandise.
- We will present special awards for top eight in each race shortly after the finish of each race at finish line area; but top 25 will receive individual award in each age group. Team awards are 3:15...we are hoping for a few here...!
- VIDEO - team parent Bob Guerrero (Celena's dad) will be videotaping all weekend and creating a special highlight DVD memorializing the weekend events & racing. It includes music and highlights all of the kids names/age groups. It makes a wonderful souvenier or special xmas gift for the parent or family member who couldn't be there to share the weekend with us. Last year the DVD's were edited soon after nationals. Pre-Orders will be taken this meet through Coach Sue. Cost is either $20-25 per DVD. Either send the money with your son/daughter, or email me to reserve one by Dec 9th. The highlight DVD from last year's event will played on the bus Saturday morning on the way to the coursewalk through.
- If possible and first choice, wear white t-shirt or long sleeve under singlet (Valpo Turkey Trot shirt is perfect), however black is okay but second choice.
- Please be prompt for the bus 3:30 Valpo; 4:30 Merrillville; otherwise contact Sue cell 219-929-6862.

All practices in Porter County on Mondays and Wednesdays will be at Coffee Creek at 4:00 PM until Dec 2nd.
Updated XC practice schedule - Lake County
Due to construction at Munster HS, I have moved all Thursday practices up to Thanksgiving to Frank Hammond Elementary School off Fran Lin Parkway in Munster. Off Columbia Avenue, turn east on Fran Lin Pkway, then turn left on Oriole. You'll see an outdoor playground and track.
Our workout will include speed intervals after warm up. Remember due to darkness, please be at practice at 4:20 warmed up and ready to practice at 4:30. Coach Ramos & Tom Kekelik will be running practice in the event Coach Sue is unable to get out of work on time. I will email them the workout.
